Hilary is a clinical counsellor who provides care for a range of emotional, behavioural, somatic, and relationship concerns in children and families. Her clinical skills have been influenced by her work in a variety of settings including outpatient treatment, non-profit agencies, private practice, and health authorities. She is an advocate for family and caregiver involvement in mental health treatment for children and youth.

Throughout her education, Hilary developed a passion for helping children with medical conditions affected by stress, and has worked in this area since. Her clinical interests and specializations include somatization (i.e., the physical expression of stress or emotions in the body, medically unexplained symptoms, or physical symptoms impacted by stress), anxiety and mood disorders in children and adolescence, parent training/coaching, and couples counselling.

Hilary incorporates the following treatment modalities into her practice: Emotion-Focused Therapy, Emotion and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Approaches, and Relational Cultural Theory.

Hilary has been described by her patients as approachable, compassionate, knowledgeable, and collaborative. The care you receive from her will be heartfelt and evidence-based (scientifically-supported).
